Netflix predicts that 90 million households will watch Extraction over its first four weeks. If it manages to achieve this, the movie will have easily surpassed the previous title holder, 6 Underground.

In its first four weeks, Michael Bay’s 6 Underground had been watched by 83 million people, so if Extraction is on track to hit 90 million, Hemsworth’s latest would soundly surpass the old record. It’s worth noting, however, how Netflix counts a view of a movie or show.

The streaming service originally required a title to be viewed to at least 70% of its run time, if not more, to count. This has since been changed to only two minutes and over. The decision was made to create equality between shorter and longer titles, but this choice could, in turn, make it difficult to determine how popular any given title actually is.

The movie tells the story of Tyler Rake, a fearless black market mercenary who is tasked with rescuing the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord.

Extraction is currently available to stream on Netflix.
