In Exoprimal, the various Anthem-like exosuits belong to one of three categories. There are Assault suits, which are meant for dealing damage, Tank suits that distract the enemy, and Support suits that provide healing, buffs, and debuffs to a team. While these are standard categories, players are encouraged to master all of Exoprimal’s gear, because fans can switch between different suits in the heat of battle. Out of all these suits, the Deadeye seems like a great suit to pick up first. In Exoprimal, the Deadeye is the bread-and-butter damage dealing suit, allowing players to fight back dinosaur hordes from decent range.

The Deadeye’s Functions in Exoprimal
According to the Exoprimal website, the Deadeye suit is designed for long to medium range combat. It’s also described as an easy suit to use, suggesting that it’s probably intended to be a starter suit that helps players acclimate to the Exoprimal gameplay loop with simple, straightforward gunplay. The Deadeye carries an assault rifle with low recoil and a scope, meaning Deadeye players will likely be at liberty to simply hold down the trigger and mow down dinosaurs from a safe distance while Tanks and Supports work together to hold back the enemy.
Each of Exoprimal’s exosuits seems to come with a set of special abilities, and the Deadeye is no exception. It reportedly comes with a palm strike attack that can push enemies back, meaning the Deadeye is equipped to give themselves a little breathing room if dinosaurs break through an Exoprimal team’s front line. The trailer for Exoprimal also suggests that the Deadeye can unleash a huge volley of bullets during certain circumstances, helping them thin out crowds. It’s not clear how many abilities each exosuit in Exoprimal has in total, but it looks like the Deadeye will be focused on simple abilities that deal damage and keep the Deadeye safe.

The Fundamental Exoprimal Damage-Dealer
Screenshots and trailers for Exoprimal hint at a much wider variety of exosuits than what Capcom has already revealed; for instance, eagle-eyed fans may have spotted an exosuit seemingly carrying a sniper rifle, meaning Assault players may get a high-accuracy suit by Exoprimal’s release. Even if Exoprimal adds lots of new Assault exosuits, though, the Deadeye looks like it’ll remain the most standard, beginner-friendly exosuit by virtue of its simplicity. Capcom has made a wise design choice in Exoprimal by including such a straightforward damage-dealing suit alongside the game’s more elaborate options.
Exoprimal is nothing like the long-lost Dino Crisis franchise, but it can’t be faulted for its originality. The combination of exosuit-powered combat with colossal, relentless tides of dinosaurs pouring from dimensional rifts adds up to something truly unique. In spite of its flashy, somewhat offbeat premise, though, Exoprimal clearly hasn’t forgotten to have strong fundamentals, as evidenced by the Deadeye suit. Fans eager to start hunting dinosaurs should keep their eyes peeled during early summer 2022, since that’s when Capcom says it’ll reveal further details about this strange new game. Sometime in the next few months, Capcom might reveal some more specific information about the Deadeye’s capabilities.
Exoprimal releases in 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
